Thursday July 6

1:30 PM  –  3:30 PM

This relaxed backwoods ramble, not far from the village of Raquette Lake, will bring us through boreal woods of spruce, fir, and tamarack to a wetland diverse in birds, wildflowers, trees, and shrubs. Total walking distance will be about a mile and a half.

Registration is required for this event

Directions:
From Route 28 turn on to route 2 toward Raquette Lake. Follow route 2 through the town of Raquette Lake for approximately 0.7miles until you find Uncas Road, on the left. Note: On GPS Uncas Rd may be called Browns Track Road. Follow Uncas Rd. for approximately 2.9 miles. The trail is an old railroad bed on the left, blocked by a gate. You’ll know you’re at the correct spot because opposite the trailhead, on the right-hand side of the road, is a marked trail to Sucker Brook and Shallow Lake.
